The mission in Shangqiu (Henan, China) has always been close to the heart of the Augustinian-Recollect Family. Exemplary individuals, some on the path to sainthood and others counted among the martyrs, established a Church that is now 100 years old amid enormous difficulties.

The protagonists of this story have been shepherds with the scent of the sheep and merciful hearts; women with motherly hearts and examples of consecration; the elderly and children, women and youth, encouraging and evangelizing their own; religious and laypeople, together, sowing hope: this is the summary motto of this story, a story that continues in our present time.
