On the tenth anniversary of the apostolic exhortation Evangelii Gaudium

The Vicariate of Mexico organized an inter-parish meeting for the parishes of the center of the Mexican Republic, open -via the internet- to all people who felt interested in commemorating the publication of the apostolic exhortation Evangelii Gaudium of Pope Francis. The gathering started at 10 am and ended at 1 pm. The pastoral team from the Parish of Our Lady of Guadalupe of the Hospitals prepared the event.
In this event, we had the participation of parishioners coming from the Recollect parishes of Our Lady of Czestochowa in Tecamachalco, Our Lady of Lourdes in Lomas de Reforma, St. Nicholas of Tolentino in Churubusco, Our Lady of Guadalupe of the Hospitals, The Risen Christ Parish in Avante, St. Monica Church, and participants from the St. Augustine seminary, all in Mexico City.
The Parish of Our Lady of Guadalupe of the Hospitals was responsible for extracting, exposing, and developing thirty specific ideas from this papal document.
The ideas from the document shared amongst the participants were those on how we must share our faith. Pope Francis invites us to immerse ourselves in the Gospel as an outgoing Church, promoting the pastoral care of conversion; We must be aware that conversion-evangelization must take place from the inside out, emphasizing witness and never forgetting the social dimension of all evangelization.
What attracted the most attention in the presentations and small group gatherings was that the laity invited priests to express more piety when celebrating the Holy Mass and their spiritual life in general. Priests should also reflect God’s mercy in the confessional, which can sometimes become a place of torture.
