The Romareda School concludes the Augustinian week with the visit of "four special friends: Agustín, Mónica, Alipio and Posidio"
The schools of the Augustinian Recollects in Spain organize each year the "Augustinian week" in the second week of November on the occasion of the "birthday of Saint Augustine" and the feast of all the Saints of the Order.
The Romareda School of Zaragoza began activities on Monday, November 8th. Thus, the assembled cloister briefly learned about the life of the most emblematic saints of the Order of Augustinian Recollects and the graphic elements that characterize them: Saint Augustine, Saint Monica, Saints Alipio and Posidio, Saint Nicholas of Tolentino, Saint Magdalena of Nagasaki and Saint Ezequiel Moreno. Next, teachers of all levels played in teams "a kahoot" that highlighted the most important moments of the Bishop of Hippo.
Likewise, throughout the week, interactive games were held in Infants and Primary schools using the “Genially” and “”Word World” platforms. The infant, 1st and 2nd grade Primary students only discussed the life of Saint Augustine, his mother Monica and their friends Alipio and Posidio, and the 3rd to 6th grade Primary students knew, in addition to these, that of Saint Nicholas of Tolentino, saint Magdalena de Nagasaki and Saint Ezequiel Moreno.
For ESO and Baccalaureate, the animated short film was screened: “Augustine, A Restless Heart”. The students took notes on the life of the saint, because at the end of it, a kahoot would be held in which the first three places would be awarded.
Also the catechesis of the Romareda School decided to join this week and worked on its sessions (Tuesday or Wednesday) "the childhood of Saint Augustine" highlighting his birth in Tagaste and the importance of valuing study as a gift from God.
At the end of the week, on Friday, November 12th, four special people were visited: Saint Augustine, Saint Monica and Saint Alipio. The Bishop of Hipona celebrated his birthday with the Infantil students. First, the honoree addressed a few words of thanks to the children, then he asked them to take care of their families and, finally, the children, excited, sang happy birthday to him. About 225 Infant students dismissed the saint with a rocket made with gestures and sounds with the help of their teachers.
Later, the “Augustinian team” visited the 1st, 2nd and 3rd Primary classes. The children prayed, sang and listened briefly to Augustine's words about his life during his childhood. Also Monica and Saints Alipio and Posidio spoke to the children highlighting what relationship they had with the saint.
Finally, Saint Augustine visited the Secondary Education teachers and went through some Primary classes to give heart-shaped sweets.
The Romareda School thanks the professors Alberto Magán and the students Isaac, Rafa, Dani and Ixeya for their service in this Augustinian week.
