AyudaFortaleza Association now Registered and Recognized as Part of the Non-Governmental Organizations for Development (NGOD) Record
The Official State Bulletin issued by the Government of Spain published in their supplement of notifications dated Friday, July 3, the registration procedure that AyudaFortaleza Association followed in the Non-Governmental Organizations of Development Record, as a founding member of ARCORES Spain and the Augustinian Recollect International Solidarity Network (in Spanish known as ARCORES).
To date, AyudaFortaleza did not have “D” recognition as an organization for Development, a final resolution that has now been communicated, thus representing formal registration with the Spanish Agency for International Cooperation and Development (AECID). This recognition enables the organization to apply for aid, subsidies, and enter into collaboration agreements with practically all Spanish public and private entities seeking to engage in international cooperation seeking to further development.
“We believe that the favorable resolution of the announced registration is a result of the work conducted in favor of exploited children and the advances to date surrounding young girls and adolescents who are sheltered at Hogar Santa Mónica”, said the NGOD, addressing members, friends, and collaborators in their communication of the good news.
The entity in charge of carrying out this registration, upon compilation of material as per current regulations, is the Department of Non-Governmental Development Organizations, which is part of the Secretariat of State for International Cooperation for Ibero-America and the Caribbean of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, European Union, and Cooperation of the Spanish Government.
The resolution of the director of the Spanish Agency for International Cooperation and Development to register Ayuda Fortaleza Association in the official register of NGODs is dated March 10, 2020, though it was published and communicated as stated in the BOE.
In Spain, in order to set up an NGOD, it is necessary to have been previously established as a foundation or association, with official records in Records of Associations or Foundations, at state or autonomous levels. AyudaFortaleza had obtained this previously required registration since its inception in 2009. In addition, as of August 27, 2013 the organization was regarded as a Public Utility entity.
The recent registration is essential to apply for grants from AECID’s public notices for proposals specifically for NGODs. As of 2012 the measure is a requirement beyond other registrations in different official registries. In addition, the registration also helps to secure a more favorable tax regime as set forth in International Development Cooperation Trea
