In the Augustinian-Recollect Family there are male religious, contemplative nuns, female religious of active life, lay people committed from their adult life and young people with restless hearts. They all have in common a feeling of being attracted by the Augustinian and Recollect values: community, interiority, love of wisdom, solidarity, austerity, service to the Church wherever and whenever she asks for it.
One of the defining characteristics of the Province of Saint Nicholas of Tolentino is its collaboration with the Order and other Provinces. Since 1953, its novitiate and theologate have welcomed religious members from other provinces. Currently, Monteagudo serves as the sole novitiate for Europe, overseen by the general curia.
Moreover, it has agreed to assist other provinces (Candelaria, Saint Rita, Saint Augustine, Saint Joseph, and Saint Ezekiel Moreno) by providing religious personnel and/or resources for their formation or missions.
Additionally, there has been cooperation with the Federation of Augustinian Recollect Contemplative Nuns, who have been supported by the Province’s religious as assistants to this day. Concurrently, in the former seminaries of Valladolid and Lodosa, as well as in the missions of Shanqiu, Lábrea, Fortaleza, Taiwan, and various parishes, the Province has frequently collaborated with the Augustinian Recollect Missionaries [MAR, Misioneras Agustinas Recoletas], Augustinian Recollect Sisters, and, since 2021, with the Augustinian Recollects of the Heart of Jesus [ARCJ, Agustinas Recoletas del Corazón de Jesús], to enable their religious to work together or in coordination with other ministries.
