The vicarial headquarters of Tecamachalco received 97 members of the Secular Augustinian Recoleta Fraternity, five religious advisors and the prior provincial to experience this national meeting in which there were formative moments, prayer, shared food and a Eucharist.
Starting at 9 in the morning on Saturday, May 18, the facilities of the Parish of Our Lady of Czestochowa from Naucalpan, in the State of Mexico, a place where the headquarters of the Vicariate of Mexico and Costa Rica, received over a hundred participants of the Retreat of Pentecost organized by the Secular Augustinian Recollect Fraternity in Mexico.
Coinciding with the renewal visit to the communities of Mexico, the prior provincial Carlos González was able to accompany them in this event, characterized by coexistence, prayer, formative talks and the joy of the meeting between the members of the Fraternities.
After registration of participants, in which they received an identification card and a handmade souvenir gift prepared by the host Fraternity, there was a breakfast to begin, at 10 a.m. the training activities after the welcome of Lourdes Laraque, national president of the Fraternities in Mexico.
The prior provincial, Carlos González, spoke about the feast of Pentecost and its meaning before a Eucharistic prayer pronounced by frater Francisco Javier Goizueta and several invocations to the Spirit pronounced by members of the Fraternity of Querétaro (María Rosa Sobrino, Sammytier Inojosa and Sylvia Chávez). After the Liturgy of the Word, prayers were given for the members of the Fraternity deceased and there was a first moment of rest.
The Augustinian Recollect Ramón Jiménez offered a first topic on “The life-giving indwelling of the Spirit”, which was followed by the theme “The Holy Spirit and conversion” by Yolanda Morales and some words of encouragement from Sofía del Bosque, from the Fraternity of Santa Mónica. Finally, the Augustinian Recollect Orlando Villalobos, advisor to the Fraternity of Cuernavaca, spoke about “We are temples of the Holy Spirit” to complete this first formative approach.
The second topic was “The Holy Spirit”, taught by the Augustinian Recollect David Molina and commented by Carmen Buendía (Avante Fraternity), which was followed by the dynamic “The Lord “acted with them”, led by the Secular Fraternity of Churubusco and which was carried out with the participants divided into ten groups.
Once the dynamic was over, those present watched the video “Alma misionera” and sang the songs: “Light a Light” and “I love you to the point of madness, Lord” just before the meal, which was shared with dishes brought by the participants.
The Eucharist was the finishing touch to the day, presided over by the prior provincial. After the photo of group for remembrance and farewell, each participant returned to their family home in the City of Mexico, State of Mexico, Querétaro or Morelos.
