Before the World Day of Prayer for Vocations and the Feast of the Conversion of Saint Augustine -04/24-, the Fray Luis de León school, directed by the Augustinian Recollects, lived its vocational week 2024, from April 15 to 20, with the motto “If you aspire to things big ones, start with the small ones.”
The first participants in this vocational week, on the 15th, were the preschool students, whose father José Antonio Hernández invited them to live their Christian life with joy and humility.
On the other hand, that same day all the collaborators of Queretaro College met to live a holy hour and in this way pray in community for all vocations in the Church, an activity that was directed by frater Isaac Almaraz, vocational promoter of Mexico-Central.
On the following days, students from Primary, Morning Secondary, Afternoon Secondary and High School they received special training appropriate to their age. Frater Isaac Almaraz and frater José Antonio Hernández encouraged the students to make a common life project, knowing that the vocation, within the framework of the Christian faith, is a unique and personal of God, inscribed in each human being. They both pointed out that each human person receives the call to respond to God in the freedom of love, with a view to happiness from him, they commented to the attendees that each one is mysteriously called by God to respond by giving his life, thus associating himself with the paschal mystery of Jesus, and achieving a life in fullness.
At the end of the vocational week 2024, a vocational coexistence was held in the facilities of Saint Pius, and many youths from the high school and prep of Fray Luis de León School, in addition to a fraternal and vocational coexistence with members of the JAR from Queretaro College.
The vocational week ended with the closing mass for vocations, presided over by frater David Molina, pastoral coordinator, and concelebrated by frater Sergio Camarena. The entire educational staff actively participated in the vocational week with gratitude and reflective spirit, becoming aware of the vocational culture.
