Vocational coexistence in CDMX

On February 10 and 11, seven young students and former students of Fray Luis de León, members of the ARY (Augustinian Recollect Youth) of this educational center, had a first vocational coexistence in the Saint Agustín postulancy of CDMX.

The seven young people together with the vocation promoter frater Isaac Almaraz and frater David Molina, local counselor, left on the morning of Saturday, February 10, from the welcome house for Saint Pius X vocational candidates, in Querétaro, towards the Saint Augustine postulancy where they were received by the local Augustinian-Recollect community.

The coexistence began with a fraternal refection. Next, the vocational they lived for a while with the applicants. Afterward, frater David Molina gave them a formative talk on consecrated life and the Augustinian-Recollect charism. David emphasized above all the importance of the gift of the vocation to be a person and to Christian life. Consequently, the seven young people played sports, participated in a Marian event organized by the applicants, and concluded the day with a movie.

The next day the vocational candidates began the day with the prayer of the office of readings and lauds, and then they played sports. Around noon they moved to Our Lady of Mercy Chapel, in Mexico City, to participate in the Eucharist.  The coexistence concluded with the midday meal.

Vocational coexistence did not conform to what was indicated by the vocational Augustinian Recollect itinerary and was coordinated by the vocational promoter Isaac Almaraz and the pastoral coordinator frater David Molina, who had the initial purpose of facilitating the accompanied people mature in their vocational option, the seed that the Lord sowed in their hearts. That is, both tried to create a vocational culture among the students of the Queretaro school.

Lastly, during this coexistence, was intended that these young people would experience and had a first approach to the rhythm of the life of a postulancy and in this way, they will strengthen their call to the Christian life.
