Vocational meeting Maringá, Brazil 2023

From November 20 to 25, convened by the General Secretariat of initial formation and vocations, the promoters of the Order met at the Santo Agostinho Seminary in Maringá, Paraná, Brazil. During these days the work focused on two main focuses: training and evaluation and projection of the work done and to be done in the coming years.

We begin the meeting and the work with a lectio divina, in which we pray, meditate and contemplate the vocation of Moses; us, as well like Moses, we took off our shoes, as an external sign of stepping on the ground sacred of the mystery of the vocation.

The formation was guided by priest Alexis Rodríguez, Costa Rica and advisor in the vocational area of the Episcopal Conference of Costa Rica and the CELAM. In this training we have gone deeper into the cultural change in which we live, in addition to delving into elements necessary for the discernment and accompaniment, illuminated by the Word of God and the Magisterium of the Church.

The final part of the meeting we evaluated the materials and instruments with which we work in the vocational animation service. The different provinces presented their work, their challenges and their dreams to finally program the work of the following years. We also wanted to bet on the worrying project, which is the presence of the vocational service of the Order in the digital continent.

There was also no shortage of meeting moments: we had the opportunity to pray calmly and calmly. The food and the after-dinner meal gave us moments of community, between laughter and tears we shared our day-to-day experiences. Nor could we leave aside sport and recreation, with exciting soccer games, city tours and leisure.

There is no doubt that these days were a time of grace for the promoters and vocational ministry; We leave recharged with energy and enthusiasm to continue with the service, without forgetting that we are only the intermediaries; the one who calls is the Lord.
