Ahuacatlán, San Luis Potosí, Mexico. Augustinian Recollects. JAR. Augustinian-Recollect Youth.

On October 29, just over 35 young people assisted and accompanied by the Augustinian Recollects nuns from the town of Ahuacatlán, San Luis Potosí, Mexico opted for become members of the JAR Mexico after a diverse and gradual process.

For some months now, the Augustinian Recollect nuns Olivia Hernández, prioress of the community, Vanessa Montoya and Aurora del Ángel, in collaboration with the parish priest of Ahuacatlán, Raymundo Rubio, planned the creation of a group youth group made up of adolescents and young people from different communities surrounding the parish Our Priest Jesus.

Initially it was thought that this youth group would be associated with the potosina parish. However, over time the nuns wanted the group to have an Augustinian-Recollect identity; hence the nuns consulted the religious Augustinian Recollects Isaac Almaraz and David Molina, who provided the nuns information and relevant explanations about the JAR youth movement (Agustino-Recollect Youth).

Days later, Isaac and David presented the children of Ahuacatlán with the possibility of be part of the Augustinian-Recollect Youth, using images, video and testimonies from JAR boys, leaving in the air the open question of whether they wanted be part of the Augustinian Recollect youth movement.

After a few weeks of discernment, the young people, linked and accompanied by the Augustinian Recollect nuns, unanimously decided to live the values and JAR pillars.

In fact, what was reported was consolidated and formalized on October 29 with a mass chaired by David Molina and musically animated by the nuns. During the Eucharist the young Augustinian Recollects presented to the Lord their wishes for a good development of the JAR stages and of knowing and living the Augustinian-Recollect charism, accompanied by their JAR lay advisors and the young JAR from the Queretaro school Fray Luis de León, who welcomed them and shared their experience as young Augustinian Recollects.

After the Eucharist, there was a fraternal agape prepared by the Augustinian Recollects nuns and a fraternal atmosphere was formed between songs, sports, music and costumes of saints of the Augustinian-Recollect family.
