The celebration of the Augustinian month in August has led to the celebration of activities related to the charisma and spirituality of the Augustinian-Recollect Family, as well as promotion of vocational culture.
The Augustinian festivities in August have allowed the parish community of Saint Rita, in the Cachoeirinha neighborhood, in the capital of the Brazilian state of Amazonas, Manaus, the carrying out various activities for spiritual, charismatic and vocational promotion in the parish community.
For all this, the Parish wanted to program an Augustinian Vocational Week that would be has been carried out from August 20 to 28 and with activities for all ages and all types. The day before, the feast of Saint Ezekiel Moreno was also solemnly celebrated, preceded by a triduum, as a prolegomena to the events of the following week.
Thus, in addition to the appropriate liturgical celebrations, there has been the Vocational Store, a informative space on the various ways of living the Augustinian Recollect charism in various states of life, such as consecrated, priestly or lay life.
They also wanted to call for the participation of the youngest with the Augustinian Games, which they included the Augustinian Race for the first time.
There was also a general presentation of the life of Saint Augustine, another on Augustinian-Recollect spirituality in his lay experience within the Secular Fraternity or the testimonies vocational needs of the religious members of the local Augustinian-Recollect community.
On Saturday, August 26, after the Eve Sunday Eucharist, a musical prayer was offered with the participation of a Catholic DJ. A great triduum commemorated Saint Monica and Saint Augustine, her son, with a great after-party that included socializing, food and drink.
The Augustinian-Recollect Family was united in this celebration, with the presence of the religious of the community, the members of the Secular Augustinian-Recollect Fraternity and the Youth Augustinian-Recollect. On the feast day of the holy bishop of Hippo the temple was full.
Later the parish community also joined in a triduum for Our Lady of Consolation, Augustinian Marian dedication with a strong presence in the manauara parish, including one of the parish base communities. For the celebration there was a beautiful procession of vehicles through the neighborhood, which gave color and sound to the party in the streets.
