On Saturday, March 25, 77 people belonging to the secular fraternities of Pozos de Santa Ana and the City od Children, together with several faithful from the parish of Pozos de Santa Ana, participated in the second retreat of Saint Joseph asleep and the four dreams in the facilities of the Saint Ezekiel Moreno of Pozos, Santa Ana Seminary, with the aim of deepening the figure of Saint Joseph and strengthen the experience of the Lenten season.
Devotion to the holy Patriarch Joseph has been a constant practice in the Order of Augustinians Recollects since the middle of the 17th century and he is revered as its special protector. The image of the saint is always present in the houses and temples of the Recollects, which all Saturdays they sing a song in honor of the faithful custodian of Jesus and Mary with the lyrics of the gospel of Saint Matthew, in which the angel reveals to him in a dream the mystery that has been accomplished in his wife Maria.
It is not surprising, therefore, that the Secular Augustinian Recollects dedicate their retreat to reflect and pay homage to the saint protects the entire Augustinian Recollect family. Thus, on March 25, at three in the afternoon the retreat Saint Joseph sleeping and the four dreams began, prepared by Víctor González, an Augustinian Recollect, and the group of “spiritual retreats” from the Parish of Pozos of Santa Ana, made up of seven people from various ministries.
At first the talk of Dreams in the Old Testament was addressed; next, the figure of Saint Joseph was deepened within the thought of Pope Francis; and the first part concluded with the talk that gives its name to the retreat the our dreams of saint Joseph, preached by Víctor González. Next, the participants carried out a procession with the figure of the sleeping Saint Joseph within the limits of the Augustinian seminary. After the procesion, the participants had a time of reflection on Saint Joseph in the thought of the fathers of the Church, especially Saint Augustine; Saint Joseph in the Holy Family and a small workshop of Learning and life lessons of Saint Joseph.
Once the moment of meditation and reflection had concluded, the attendees were able to live a moment of Eucharistic adoration (holy hour) as a closing of the activity that concluded at 6:30 p.m.
This retreat is the first of six workshops to be held during the current year focused in the figure of Saint Joseph and his teachings for the Christian life.
