ARCORES & CEAR presented in the Boys' Town. Costa Rica. March 2023.

On March 3, the Leadership Teams of Arcores-Costa Rica and the Augustinian Recollects (CEAR) of Costa Rica were present in the Boys’ Town (Agua Caliente, Cartago) and presented to the workers and volunteers of this socio -educational institution the nature and projects of both the solidarity and CEAR network.

In the Boys’ Town, whose direction is led by the Augustinian Recollects for more than fifty years, more than 500 boys who receive attention from some 140 workers and have residence in this boarding school. These leadership teams went to this group, formed by teachers, administrators, educators and maintenance workers, both Arcores and the CEAR announced their nature and plans.

For this, the 140 people were distributed in three groups of about 45 people per group with different schedules that were going through the classrooms in which the various topics were exposed.

The talk of Arcores was offered by Fray Víctor González, Augustinian Recollect director of Arcores-Costa Rica, accompanied by Sofía Muñoz, design and advertising student, who currently develops her TCU (university communal work) in Arcores Costa Rica.

The exhibition on the CEAR of Costa Rica was in charge of Jaison Calderón, who has worked at CEAR for many years and develops all graphic design logistics and is the facilitator of the Entrepreneurship and Leadership Workshop as well as the Eneagram workshop.

During the visit to the CDN, the Augustinian prayer workshop -TOA- acquired a special touch, it was held in the church of the Town and was directed by Lisánder Chacón, who is part of the CEAR team and is also facilitator of spirituality workshops and retreats from the CEAR. The theme of the prayer workshop was the narrow heart, the ruinous heart and the clean heart.

The human trainers, the members of the ACAI, psychologists, social workers, teachers of the school and the technicians, workers of the farm and administration, and three Augustinian Recollects: Rogelio Morgan, Eduardo Chávez and Cristino Gutiérrez, visited the different classrooms.

The main objective of this activity was to publicize this beautiful ministry, with the idea of sowing the seed and opening a CEAR-CDN. All were very receptive and excited.
