On December 4th, the Parish of Saint Rita of Casia in Manaus (Amazonia, Brazil), attended by the Augustinian Recollects, held its parish assembly, presided over by the parish priest, Fray Juan Cruz Vicario, with the participation of Fray Artenildo Alves and Fray Ivanderlei Ribeiro, and representatives of the communities, organizations and pastoral movements that are part of the Parish.
The work of the assembly was aimed at evaluating how the activities of the year 2022 were developed and preparing the itineraries for 2023. Some of the priorities taken to work in the year 2023 were: give more prominence to young people, value the ministers of the Eucharist and of the Word, to pastoral agents and movements.
The assembly was also a time for coexistence, but also for evaluating how to walk as Christians, and for this purpose some goals were set to promote walking better in the year 2023. Among others, the movements participate more in the Eucharistic celebrations and in programmed activities such as meetings of pastoral councils and formations. Of these formations, the Bible school operates in the Parish of Saint Rita. Participating in these formations is an opportunity to help parishioners maintain their faith and intimacy with Jesus.
The Parish of Saint Rita seeks to carry out its activities in accordance with the charism of the Order of Augustinian Recollects, seeking that all work in unity and forming a community of brothers, even with different ways of thinking, so that Christ is always the center of all parish activity.
