On Friday, October 21st, a Vigil in preparation for Domund-2022, organized by the Diocese of Tarazona in collaboration with the Augustinian Recollects of Monteagudo, took place in the chapel of Saint Andrew, in the Tarazona cathedral.
This year’s 14 novices, with their still practicing master, Brother Wilmer Moyetones, were in charge of organizing a Holy Hour, in the style of the “Get on your way” that has been celebrated every month for a few years. This time the direct responsibility fell on an Argentine, Emanuel Clur, and a Brazilian, Víctor Ribeiro de Lima. The first of them offers us a review-synthesis of what they proposed and how they developed it:
“This Friday we were in front of the real presence of Our Lord in the Holy Hour, in order to meet Him and, in a special way, meditate, pray and intercede for the missionaries on the occasion of DOMUND, which this year 2022 bears the motto ” You will be my witnesses.”
A reflection was developed on what mission is and what a missionary is, taking Jesus as a missionary model: He who, sent by the Father, without abandoning his womb (cf. Jn 1,18), without abandoning contemplation, walked on this earth in order to make their Love known. With the help of several songs, we meditate on the call of the Twelve and how that challenges us today.
At the end of the exposition of the Most Holy Sacrament and receiving its blessing, the new pastor of the pilgrim Church in Tarazona, Monsignor Vicente Rebollo Mozos, addressed a few words as a final reflection and sending, in which he recalled the effectiveness of our prayers, which are always attended by the Lord, and our duty to pray for the missionaries who, thanks to our prayers, receive strength from Above”.
The boat that the novices prepared with care and dedication two years ago is still present in these celebrations, as a symbol and sign that the call of Jesus and the response of the disciples take place today as well. The boat continues sailing. The mission continues.
