After two years with great difficulties in carrying out its programs, the Augustinian Recollect Spirituality Center of Costa Rica, whose main headquarters are in the Casa San Ezequiel Moreno de Pozos de Santa Ana (San José), has begun the new school year 2022 with encouragement, hopes and news.

The reopening of face-to-face activities at the Augustinian Recollect Spirituality Center (CEAR) in Costa Rica has had for its managers and trainers an air of “returning to normality” and of recovering the meaning of the service provided, which focuses on helping people to rediscover themselves and the community with human and spiritual growth.

“We are the enablers of an inner journey that leads to harmony, of an invitation to transform life, of an attempt to be better human beings when it comes to relating to other human beings and to the whole environment”, indicates one of the the people who make up the training and management teams of CEAR Costa Rica.

“We want to be a space that serves as the house of God, as a school for the inner teacher, as a forum where dozens of people with the desire to grow humanly and spiritually share life and reflection,” he continues.

The facilities of the Casa San Ezequiel Moreno of the Augustinian Recollects in Pozos of Santa Ana (San José, Costa Rica) have once again filled with people thirsty for joy, to share their stories and their smiles, to embrace others.

Curiously, this euphoria shown by those who had already enjoyed the CEAR before the pandemic and now feel they are making up for lost time, has attracted the attention of those who are accessing its services for the first time.

Some of the workshops that are offered in the new course and that have already begun have a strong spiritual aspect. The Augustinian Recollect Carlos Eduardo Álvarez has offered one on “The Holy Gospels”; another on “Sacraments” and “Philosophy of Saint Augustine” will follow at the central headquarters.

The offer has also begun in other areas of the country, a special feature of CEAR Costa Rica that transfers its services to other spaces to make it easier for many people to participate. In the Parish of Our Lady of Carmen in Alajuela and in the Parish of the Inmaculada de Pozos de Santa Ana and its subsidiary church in Lindora, Augustinian Prayer Workshops have been scheduled.

In the field of human development, CEAR Costa Rica has started the 2022 course with three workshops available. Thus, Raiza Prieti, executive coach, offers “Developing your personal skills”.

The Augustinian Recollect Efraín Cervantes, recently joined the team of trainers, offers “Growing from your personal history”, a workshop whose central point is in book X of The Confessions of Saint Augustine.

Lastly, the psychologist Viviana Mora offers the workshop “Emotions and Me”, which has been very well received by the participants, aware that the last two years have been loaded, precisely, with conflicting and intense emotions for all of them.
