The educational community of the San Augustin College of the Augustinian Recollects in Valladolid has released a video thanking the students and their parents, after three months of moving the classes to the family homes.
Teachers of the educational center of the Province of San Nicholas of Tolentine in the Castilian-Leonesecapital wanted to pay tribute to the students and their families after three months of virtual classes in which, from their homes and through the technological platform of the College, students have followed the classes and evaluations.
In the video, in addition to the thank you text, you can see examples of this mode of telematics teaching imposed by the global health crisis of this year 2020: the diverse platforms of communication and teamwork, students and teachers behind the screens working, doing lessons and evaluations…
“On March 13th the face-to-face classes were suspended. Since then our classes have moved virtually into your homes. Even if we are connected in a virtual classroom, even if we talk every day, even if we control you in real time, and if we evaluate you in the distance, if we customize the content, record the explanations, even if we record all the classes, and we continue to use the board…
We miss your presence!
Thank you. We’ll see each other again very soon.”
This was the message of St. Augustine’s College to its students. Most of them will not return to the facilities of the college until the next course, although in the process of de-escalation that Spain currently carries out with regard to social confinement for pandemic control, there are some possibilities for a reunion.
In fact, from June 12th to the 23rd some of the second year students of high school have been able to go to their centers to solve doubts and reinforce contents for the special examination that allows them to move on to the University, called EBAU in Spain, and that will take place on July 1, 2 and 3.
This attendance is not the same as before the pandemic, but through appointment, with special hygiene-sanitary measures and in a personalized teaching. Throughout the province of Valladolid, 1,198 students and 460 teachers will attend 43 centers in this modality.
